December Favourites!

First blog post of 2020, y'all! Happy New Year, and all that. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Did you drink, eat and be merry? I know I did! I'm so excited to share my December favourites with you today; there's some really good ones. So let's get stuck in!

Naturally, the highlight of December was Christmas. This year was the first year we had a Christmas Tree in nearly five years and it was so nice to decorate the tree again; and the rest of the house, too! Spending time with family, visiting friends and eating all the good food was pretty decent too.

Christmas nails, of course! Aren't they fabulous? So fabulous in fact that my best friend Luci decided to have hers done to match. They're so jolly and festive, I'm going to be sad to see them go next week.

Couldn't not mention the Lush Advent Calendar. This was an early Christmas present from my husband and although it was expensive it was worth it. The Advent Calendar included some fantastic goodies, from bath bombs to shower gel, bubble bars to massage bars. And once you'd opened all the doors, the drawers could be converted to turn this into a fantastic little storage chest of drawers. Which, conveniently, holds all of my Lush bath bombs and bubble bars!

I read a lot of books in December, none of which really stood out. One of them, though, was The Gloriumptious Worlds of Roald Dahl which included this letter/quote at the end of the book. It's an incredibly inspirational quote, I think, and one that's stuck with me since I read it weeks ago.

Isn't this bag and purse the best?! I was perusing a local cards and gift shop (Tewkesbury Cards and Gifts) a week before Christmas when I spotted this bag hanging up on a shelf. Of course, I fell in love immediately and knew I had to have it. It came with a hefty price tag, in part because it's real leather, but I didn't care. Then I found out they had matching purses! This one, or the smaller one. I have too many cards for a small purse but this one fits me perfectly. This is, by far, my new favourite bag and I can't see myself swapping it/changing it anytime soon.

And finally, our Christmas Tree! Okay, so it may not be the most glamorous or the most well decorated. And it's only half a tree. We decided not to go for a full tree because of the cat, and to be fair he didn't really bother with our half-tree! But it's our tree and we had great fun choosing decorations and twinkly lights for it. Also, all of our presents fitted underneath it perfectly (don't worry, we turned off the radiator before putting the numerous boxes of chocolates underneath the tree!)

Tell me your favourite thing about Christmas 2019!
