CBD Oil: Fad or Here To Stay?* || With Mistatera

If you haven't heard of CBD Oil, then you must have been living under a rock for the past year or so. It's all the rage right now, with the majority of health shops stocking a range of CBD Oils in a variety of different strengths. It claims to help with pain management/relief, mental health, sleep and a whole host of other mental and physical issues to boot. But does it really work? Or is it just one of those healthy living fads we'll all have forgotten about by the end of January?

I'd been considering giving CBD Oil a go before Mistatera* got in touch with me to offer me a free sample. I've had a number of friends take it for problems ranging from anxiety and ADHD to poor sleep and Fibromyalgia. All proclaimed it to be a miracle cure. I was sceptical, but if a natural product can replace all the pain medication and anxiety drugs I take on a daily basis, I'd be daft not to try it.

Now let me just make this very clear. I do not advise replacing any prescription medication with CBD Oil. Looking online, as I did when I first started taking the product to check it wouldn't interact negatively with my current medications, many people have used CBD Oil to wean themselves off of mental health medication and then as a means of keeping their moods stable, minimising anxiety etc. If that's something you decide you want to do, you must consult your GP.

The GP's are a little vague when it comes to CBD Oil. There's not a great deal of research currently available on how effective it is, how it works, why it works. And they're reluctant to confidently say that you could replace a prescription drug with this natural remedy. And it's important to bear that lack of research in mind when considering how to use CBD Oil. I would say it's best used alongside your other medication but that you must check with either a GP or Pharmacist that it won't interact negatively with the pills you're currently taking (or online, like I did.) Lecture over, promise!

So, to the crux of the matter. Does it work? In short, yes. I believe it does. I've been taking the 5% CBD Oil Drops for three weeks now, and I've noticed an improvement in my sleep and my anxiety levels are down. My moods don't seem to be swinging so rapidly from high to low either, which is a problem I was having not too long ago. One minute I was up, the next down. It was a real roller-coaster ride. But not anymore. It doesn't seem to have done much for pain management/relief. I suffer a lot with headaches/migraines and with arthritis, especially in the colder months, and both have been pretty bad the last few weeks, despite taking the CBD Oil. But maybe it just needs a bit more time to work.

What do I dislike about it? The taste. It's really yucky. Don't get me wrong, I didn't exactly expect it to taste of bubble-gum or chocolate. But the oil leaves a very strong aftertaste and I often end up having to eat a snack-size bar of chocolate to get rid of it. The smell is also quite pungent.

Mistatera offer two different strengths of CBD Oil, and I do wonder if the 11% might work better for the pain management/relief side of things. They also offer an E-Liquid, Bundles and you can get a free sample of CBD Oil from their website if you're curious but not ready to invest the money just yet!

I remain a little sceptical as to how one natural product can do so much, but three weeks of trialling the product has turned me around a little as I've seen it does have at least a few very positive benefits. Don't be put off by the taste, after all it just means you get to eat chocolate after taking your dose! If something as simple as a few drops of CBD Oil a day can help chase away anxiety, improve your sleep, stabilise your moods and more, why wouldn't you try it?

Have you tried CBD Oil? What do you think about it?
