Life Lately: October Edition!

It feels good to be back and cranking out my regular monthly posts. I'm sad to see October go, it's one of my favourite months of the year, but it's been cracking. Here's what I've been up to over the last four weeks!

Doing...Halloween in style. As soon as the 1st of October rolled around, I was putting up my decorations, both inside and out. My house became known as "Halloween House" in the neighbourhood for the month of October! I had my smear test, yay, and my second positive result for HPV. I've got to go back same time next year to see if my immune system has kicked it out yet. I got to see my mum for the first time in months, and we had a lovely day out in Cardiff mooching around the shops, eating a delicious lunch, and catching up over coffee. I spent lots of time with my grandparents, always a pleasure. Chris and I started going on weekly date nights; bowling, meals out and even the cinema to see Zombieland 2. It's nice to spend some one-on-one time together sometimes! And I spent Halloween at a farm park with my friend and her three kids, before coming home to the trick or treaters and handing out all the sweets!
Buying...Christmas presents. Don't shoot me for mentioning the C word. And it's only two little things so far. But yes, I've begun to plan for and even start buying for Christmas.
Reading...fairy-tales. I've been enjoying Usborne's Forgotten Fairy Tales of Brave and Brilliant Girls. I'm behind in my GoodReads Reading Challenge, so I need to get a wiggle on and finish this one and some more!
Watching...The Apprentice! It's the most wonderful time of the year where TV is concerned. The Apprentice is back on our screens this month, and November sees the return of I'm A Celeb. I can't wait! much time with family and friends. It truly makes for a month well spent.
Planning for...Bonfire Night, and how I can best keep the cat calm when all the fireworks start going off. I like to make sure he has places to hide if he's scared, and I like to be around if possible. So I'm looking in to when firework displays are on locally and making sure I'm around!

I've been enjoying some painting this month in an effort to avoid the screens, which have been giving me migraines.

I bought some new Harry Potter books a few weeks ago and the artwork is just stunning!

The face of a doggo who definitely did not just fart on you.

One foggy, foggy morning. Spoopy!

Do you love Halloween?
