Life Lately: June Edition!

It feels like just yesterday I was writing the May Edition of my Life Lately series. How is it we're into July already? Time really does fly when you're having fun. Here's what I got up to in June.

myself a mischief. Only went and broke my rib in June, didn't I? I made it to 28 years of age without breaking a single bone in my body. And in the space of a year I broke a finger, and a rib. Let me tell you, I'd take the broken finger over the broken rib any day. My god, broken ribs hurt like hell. I'm still in agony, and on regular ibuprofen and paracetamol, one week after the injury. The doctors told me not to expect to see too much of an improvement before three weeks was up, so that's fun. This broken rib kind of put the brakes on a lot of my plans as there's only so much I can do in a day before the pain takes over. I missed out on seeing my mum in Cardiff. But I did get to see my grandparents, which was a pleasure, as well as my great-aunt, who I haven't seen about six months. I took some time off work, had my first gynaecology appointment (more on that in a later blog post), did a car boot and made a £20.20 profit. I got my nails did and my eyebrows waxed. I managed a tip run and an overhaul of our bedroom before I broke my ribs. In fact, it was the latter that broke my rib. Long story, don't ask! So, although things didn't go to plan, it was still a pretty good month. I just could have done without the broken rib! many children's books. I want our children to grow up loving reading as much as I did as a child, so I'm amassing quite the collection of books for them already. Okay, we don't have any children right now. But I know one day we will.
Reading...mostly, magazines. From mental health to true crime, I subscribe to around 7/8 magazines a month. So that keeps me quite busy on the reading front. Especially if I'm having an OCD flare-up. It can take me three times as long to read a magazine on bad OCD days.
Watching...The Handmaid's Tale, of course. I was so excited for Season 3 to return to our television screens in June. And it's off to a gripping start. I won't spoil it for anyone, but that first episode was amazing. The visuals, the music. All of it was on point and set the show up for a smashing third series, in my opinion.
Spending...most of my time resting. I do a little bit of housework, I have a rest. I run some errands, I have a rest. Healing a broken rib is tiring. And it's painful. So I can only do so much in a day!
Thinking about...My birthday. And Halloween. I want to go back to The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour London for my birthday this year, so I'm making plans for that now. I'm also super excited for Halloween, and already planning all my decorations for spooky season.

Pretty flowers at the front of our house

I've been taking so many baths since our bath taps were fixed

Not so long ago, the bear I sponsor from Born Free died. Now my lion :'(

I was so excited for the launch of this game. And it hasn't disappointed!

What did you get up to in June?
