June Favourites!

How? How are we into July already?! We're in the last half of 2019 now, guys. Halloween is fast approaching - yay. Christmas is also fast approaching - boo! And before you know it, 2020 will be upon us. I am so not ready. So let me linger a little longer in the first half of 2019, by taking a look back at some of my favourite things from June.

Yasss. Our bath is fixed. Hallelujah! I've been making the most of it with near constant baths. And it's been so much fun using up my Lush bath bombs, after such a long time without a bath. I can't remember what bath bomb this was, but it was glorious. So black. So sparkly. So beautiful.

I was really sad when Real Crime announced they were closing their doors and shutting down production of their monthly crime magazine. So I was ecstatic when I found a new true crime magazine publishing monthly that's easily just as good, if not better, than Real Crime. Crime Monthly features the UK's first crime TV guide, and also recommends books, podcasts and more for true crime fans. So it's the perfect magazine for me. Not an ad, I'm just genuinely too excited to have found a new true crime mag to indulge in every month!

What's the old poem? "Cats sleep anywhere - any table, any chair." Well, when he's not sprawled out on our new Ikea coffee table, he's asleep on what was meant to be a horizontal scratching post/hide and seek toy (there's a jingly ball under the scratching pad and holes cut in the side of the box for him to stick his paws in and chase the ball!) He's totally destroyed it, as it's not designed to be slept on, but it makes him happy. Here he is using his catnip carrot as a pillow. He's so cute, I just can't.

The Handmaid's Tale is back on our screens, and it's better than ever in my opinion. I know there's been some criticism of the show, now in it's third series I think, but it started with a bang and every episode so far has been intriguing and exciting. It's one of the few series on TV that holds my attention these days, to be honest.

We took advantage of the glorious weather in June to pretty up our front yard. Thanks to a sale on at Homebase, we were able to pick up some beautiful, potted plants. And now our front yard makes me happy every time I see it. It's surprising what an effect some pretty colours and greenery can have on your mood!

Thanks to the biopic of Elton John's rise to fame that hit cinemas recently, Rocketman, I've found myself obsessed with Elton John's music. Not for the first time, I might add. I was a huge fan of Elton in my younger years. But I can't remember the last time I purposely listened to his music in recent years. It's been a trip down Memory Lane, for sure, but a very pleasant one. I particularly love Your Song, made famous by Moulin Rouge, of course. "Alexa...shuffle songs by Elton John!"

Tell me one of your favourite things from June!
