What I Got For Christmas!

I'm well aware I shouldn't have to start my post with this little disclaimer, but I like to. I don't want this post to come across as though I'm bragging. I'm extremely grateful for all the lovely gifts I received from family and friends this Christmas, and I know I'm a very lucky girl! So please, just take this post for what it is. A nosy into what Christmas presents I received. And if you don't like posts like this? Come back tomorrow for something different!

The first presents I opened were from my bestie Steph. And as you can tell, she knows me so well! From left to right, back to front; Disney Bows & Whiskers Bath Milk, Unicorn Stickers, Maltesers Teasers, Unicorn Keyring, and Unicorn Mug. The Aristocats, baths, stickers, unicorns, chocolates; these are a few of my favourite things!

I had the biggest shock of my life this year when, for the first time in 8 years of being together, my husband presented me with two surprise gifts. Little backstory; I usually buy my own present from hubby. And then wrap it myself, too. So I never really have any surprises. I thought that would be the case this year, as I'd bought my own present and wrapped it. So you see why I was so shocked to receive two totally unexpected, surprise presents from him. They were even wrapped (by his mum, but that's not the point!)

The two surprise presents from hubby were; Friends Monopoly and an Echo Spot. Which just goes to show he does listen to me! I've been saying all year that I really want an Echo Spot. And he's obviously picked up on my Friends obsession, and he knows well that Monopoly is one of my favourite board games, even if I do always lose! I hope he knows he's going to have to top these two surprises next year though...*winks*.

And this was the Christmas present I picked out and wrapped for myself from hubby. A new engagement ring! My previous, and first, engagement ring was unfortunately damaged. And although it wasn't obvious from a distance, I could see the imperfection all the time and it made me sad. So I picked out a new engagement ring for Christmas and I couldn't be more happy with it. It's so me.

These presents are from my in-laws, husband, and friends. From left to right, back to front; Bomb Cosmetics Free Spirit Handmade Gift Pack, Wooden Reindeer, Peppermint Candy Canes, Cadbury Heroes, Lindt Lindor Orange, Harry Potter Mug, Baylis & Harding Gift Set, Unicorn Hot Water Bottle, Scented Candle, Unicorn Lip Balm, Engagement Ring, Liberex Bath Bombs, Unicorn Ruler, Snow Balls X2, Colour Your Own Mug, Invisibobbles, Ferrero Rocher, Becoming by Michelle Obama, Journey Into Darkness by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, Bird Box by Josh Malerman, H Samuel Diamond Necklace, Bravissimo Sleep Bra, Unicorn Confetti Nail Polish.

My Auntie picked out some wonderful unicorn themed presents for me this year; including the wooden ruler and the confetti nail polish in the previous photo. She also got me this Unicorn Snuggle Blanket, which has a multi-coloured mane and is so soft and cuddly!

My final present from my in-laws arrived a few days after Christmas, and was this adorable Pandora Unicorn Charm. Isn't it just the cutest unicorn you ever did see? I love it!

I generously gifted myself two presents, That's right, I wrapped them up and put them under the tree to open on Christmas Day. How sad am I?! Anyway, the first present to me from me was this Penguins Little Black Classics Box Set. Which I've wanted for ages! So pleased to finally have this collection in my life.

And the second present to me from me was the, frankly gorgeous, Soap & Glory Bubble Act. I had to have this just for the tin alone. But it's contents were better than previous years too. Take a look...

I loved the inclusion of a bath bomb, face mask and and the Melty Talented Dry Skin Balm. The latter has gone straight in my handbag, as it promises to be useful in a variety of situations! I love the tin, which is on proud display in my bathroom, and the contents. Soap & Glory really pulled it out of the bag this year.

And, for that matter, so did my family and friends. All my gifts were so thoughtful, so me. And I still haven't recover from the shock of the two surprise gifts from hubby. That still gets me. Consider this a thank you note to everyone who was kind enough to give me a wonderful Christmas present, or even to send me a Christmas card or wish me a Merry Christmas. It's certainly not all about the presents, after all.

My mum and I didn't spend Christmas together this year. It was our first Christmas apart, and it was strange. It didn't really feel like Christmas without her, ya know? Anyway, we didn't get to exchange presents until March, when we were finally able to meet up halfway. So these are my presents from my mum.

I adore dream-catchers, and cats. So this was the perfect present. It now has pride of place above my bed where it'll hopefully catch all those nasty dreams I seem to have! She also gave me the cutest key-ring, and a rose-gold unicorn pen, pictured close up below.

These last two presents were ones I'd specifically asked for. I am v excited for The Sorting Candle! When you burn it, it reveals a colour relating to the house you belong to. Yellow for Hufflepuff, blue for Ravenclaw, green for Slytherin and red for Gryffindor. I so hope it reveals me to be a Hufflepuff, as Pottermore says I'm a Hufflepuff and everything I own is Hufflepuff themed!

And finally a straightening brush. A friend recommended one of these to me, and sold me on it by saying it took a lot less time than using the straighteners. I don't necessarily want it to get my hair ramrod straight, just less bushy/frizzy. V excited to try this out. Hopefully it lives up to my hopes for it! Thanks mum <3.

What did you get for Christmas?
