October Goals!

I'm not going to dissect last month's goals. Suffice it to say, things did not go to plan. However, I did have a fantastic month. It was my birthday month, and our first wedding anniversary. Hubby and I had a week off together, and filled it with lots of fun things. So I'm happy. I will say that I did, at least, manage to complete one of last month's goals; to read a sci-fi novel. The rest of them? Let's not go there. Instead, let's take a look at the goals I'm setting myself for October.

1. Spending ban. I'm going to be working really hard on clearing my debt and not accumulating more over the next year or so. And this starts in October. I will only spend what disposable income I have left after paying bills. I'll spend my money on experiences more than on material things. And I'll only spend on material things when I'm out on a shopping date with friends. And only if I really need it.
2. Buy a pushbike. I didn't get around to this in September; financial reasons. So I'm carrying this goal forward into this month. I should be able to afford a new bike this month though, and then I can start exercising regularly. 
3. Read 1 non-fiction book. In the spirit of stepping outside of my comfort zone when it comes to reading, this month I want to read a non-fiction book.
4. Write a letter to a friend. I used to love writing letters to friends. But I've let that slip a little over the past six months or so. So I'm planning to get back into it this month, and send out some nice letters to my friends. 
5. Eat at least one portion of fruit and veg a day. In an effort to get healthier, I want to eat more fruit and veg every day. Starting with at least one portion of each a day.
