Life Lately - October Edition!

How on earth is October over already? I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that in nine weeks time Christmas will be behind us, and 2019 just hours away. Scary, huh? Let's not get too caught up in future plans, though. Here's a little recap of what I got up to in October!

Doing...not a lot. It's been quite a quiet month, which was needed really after the busiest of months in September. October saw us attending our friend's son's christening, a lovely occasion. My grandparents came to visit. I continued with therapy, though had to bow out of one session as I contracted the flu and was quite poorly. The Mop Fair came to Tewkesbury, and we had a little stroll around the biggest street fair in the South West on it's opening night. And I ended the month on a high with not just Halloween (my favourite time of year) but also the Stratford Literary Festival where myself and Leia saw Jodi Picoult talk about her new book, A Spark of Light, and received a signed copy! So that was pretty awesome.
Buying...far too much Lush stuff. After a massive Lush Halloween haul, which I'll have up on the blog soon, I thought I'd be done with Lush for a while. But then they went and released their Christmas range, and I realised I was so not done. So a massive Lush Christmas haul came next, and that'll be on the blog a bit nearer to the festive season!
Reading...too few books. I've been quite absorbed in magazines lately; Happiful, Planet Mindful, True Crime, Cosmopolitan. The list goes on. And I've also found myself wrapped up in The Sims 3 all too often, too. Which takes away from reading time. At the time of writing this post, though, I'm reading critically acclaimed The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas, and I have good feelings about it so far!
Watching...The Apprentice! I love when this show is back on our screens, as it is one of the few shows hubby and I watch together. We have very different tastes in tv shows/films. Also, Hollyoaks and Corrie are a bit good at the moment, aren't they?!
Spending...lots of time with family and friends. And that is the best way to spend time really, isn't it? I love that finally, after five years of living in Tewkesbury, I have a solid friendship group who are there for me and who I actively spend time with. It really does make a huge difference.
Planning to...get into podcasts. Listening to, not making of course. I hate the sound of my own voice, I could never inflict that kind of pain on you!

New nails! The next set will be Halloween themed.

I've been reading lots of ghost stories to get in the Halloween spirit.

Photo shoots with my silly lil boy.

Just one of the many magazines I 'm currently obsessed with.

What did you get up to in October?
