Life Lately: August Edition!

We're officially well into September now, and that makes me so happy. Not only is it my birthday month, but Autumn is right around the corner and the weather's starting to reflect that. I am in my element. But before we get too caught up in the future, let's take a look back at August and what I got up to! much socialising. It's been a really busy month for me. My grandparents bought my 15 year old cousin up for a visit, and we went on a boat trip along the River Avon and then had a nice lunch. My grandparents returned, just themselves this time, a few weeks later. We enjoyed a nice carvery at our local pub. I also caught up with Steph in August, and got to meet my best friend's new baby boy, Jack!
Buying...too many books. Sounds about right really though, doesn't it? I'll be the first to admit that my book collection has grown totally out of hand, though, and I'm putting myself on a strict book buying ban in September.
Reading...lots of true crime. I'm on a real true crime kick at the moment. It started with Mindhunter, a few months ago. Then this month I moved on to I'll Be Gone In The Dark and Signature Killers. I've also picked up Zodiac and Written In Blood to read next month.
Watching...The Handmaid's Tale. Oh my god. It's so intense at the moment! We've cancelled our Sky Subscription, as of October, so I've been trying to watch all of the stuff I've got recorded on our Sky Box before then! I've also started watching 9-1-1 on Sky Witness. It's so good - very tense and gripping. I'd highly recommend it!
Spending...what feels like too much time in therapy. Don't get me wrong, I'm finding it very helpful. But some days? I just really don't want to be there. I've had a week off, at the end of August, because my therapist was away. And I've taken the week of my birthday off, too, so I've had a break.
Listening to...Eminem. He's a sneaky so-and-so isn't he? Releasing a new album without any warning. Luckily for him, he's released a banger. I love it! My favourite songs on his new album, Kamikaze, are The Fall and Good Guy.

A little boat trip up the River Avon

I took part in a readathon in August, for Fierce by Gin Phillips

I bought way too many unicorn themed items this month!

How gorge are these bookmarks from Jemma?

What did you get up to in August?
