Life Lately: July Edition!

You may have noticed, but probably haven't, that I've been away from my blog for quite a few weeks now. I intended to take a week off to coincide with annual leave from my day job, but that week turned into longer. I guess I hit something of a creative block; I was feeling fatigued and bored with my blog. And a little disheartened. It feels like the posts I work the hardest on, get the lowest views. And the posts I put together in a hurry, get the highest views. Which is frustrating, and made me wonder what the point is! Surprisingly, to me at least, I really missed blogging. Hence my return. Forgive me for the lateness of my regular monthly posts, I'm keen not to miss a single month as it's great for me to look back on at the end of the year and see what I was doing and loving each month. So, without further ado, here's what I got up to in July!

Doing...mostly? The usual. I've started up individual therapy again with a new therapist, and she's taking me through EMDR. It's been really helpful so far, and I'll definitely be writing up a post about my experience with EMDR. Two weekends in July were spent in a field looking at steam engines; Much Marcle Steam Rally and Welland Steam Rally. My husband went away for the weekend, to somewhere in Wales, with his motorbike buddies. So I had a leisurely, quiet weekend filled with reading and pizza. My mum also turned 56 in July, although I'm sure she wouldn't like me telling you that!
Buying...all the cute unicorn things! From a unicorn notebook, to a unicorn throw; a unicorn blanket to a unicorn tealight holder. I'm just a sucker for anything unicorn themed, to be honest.
Reading...a lot of magazines. I usually read Cosmopolitan every month, but I've recently dipped into a few mental health magazines. And I love them! Happiful and Planet Mindful are my favourites, and a must-buy in the future.
Watching...Hollyoaks! It's really hotting up for Summer. Chris and I have also started re-watching a series from our teenage years; Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. And for the first time in too long, I went to the cinema to see a horror movie! Luci and I went to see Hereditary and, to be honest, spent most of the time either giggling or scratching our heads in confusion. Weird, not particularly scary, film, but it was a fun outing nevertheless.
Spending...too much time in front of the fan. Who else is sick to death of this heatwave? It was great, for about a week. But now I'm so sick of not being able to take a bath (because a) too hot and b) water shortage) and of always being sweaty and sticky. Gross!
Listening to...Panic at the Disco's new album, Pray For The Wicked. It's currently on repeat in my car; I just love it!

My first cinema trip to see a horror film in at least five years!
