Life Lately - May Edition!

I can't believe I'm writing this post, to be honest. Because with the end of May comes the realisation that we're actually halfway through the year already! Can you even?! I can't even. But before I start rhapsodising about June, let's take a little look back at what I got up to in May, shall we?

Doing...individual therapy. April saw me 'graduate' from group therapy, and May saw me start individual therapy. At the time of writing, I've only had two sessions, but I'm cautiously optimistic that this is going to help. What else? My husband took me to Birmingham a few weekends ago for some retail therapy followed by a trip to The National Sealife Centre! I'll have a blog post going live soon with lots of photos and videos from my day out - so keep an eye out for that. My husband also took part in an organised 5K walk with his mum to help raise money for Chrohns and Colitis. And the following week he took part in a 70 mile (!!) bike ride. He's mad, but I'm proud of him. I've also spent a lot of time catching up with family and friends this month.
Buying...way too many new books, and lots of new clothes (from Primark, obvs). My book collection is totally out of control, and I really, really need to get a handle on it in June! I fear my husband may have grounds to divorce me if I buy many anymore books.
Reading...Penguin Modern Classics. This month saw me work my way through the Penguin Modern Box Set - that's 50 short stories/collections. It didn't leave me much time to read anything else. Although I did finally start, and finish, Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult which was AMAZING.
Watching...Britain's Got Talent, of course. It's my favourite time of the year, to be honest. I bloody love this show, and the oddballs who grace our screen and make me laugh. As well as all the genuinely talented people - I'm forever in awe of people who can sing/dance/make jokes/etc.
Learning...that I really am surrounded by some lovely friends. A week ago, I was having a really down day and I put something on Facebook asking if anyone wanted to meet for a coffee and a chat because I just needed to get out of the house and out of my own head. I had no less than five different friends invite me out, and I'm so incredibly grateful to have such good friends in my life.
Spending...every weekend in the tub. A Lush bath has become my new favourite weekend activity, whether it's hot or cold outside!
Looking forward to...meeting my best friend's new baby, catching up with old friends, and spending more time with family and friends in June!

Just another Lush bath!

Cocktails, baby!

I've been having trouble sleeping recently; waking up with nightmares, struggling to get off to sleep etc. This journal is a great companion for any insomniac!
