Life Lately: October Edition!

It feels really weird to be writing October's Life Lately blog post. I mean, it genuinely feels like just yesterday that I was writing September's edition! And now, here I am, writing October's?! Also, we're so close to Christmas now, I can almost taste it. I'm really not sure how I feel about that because, on the one hand, I love Christmas; with family, food and time off work. But on the other hand, I find it such a stressful time of year, it always sends my anxiety into overdrive. So there we are, that's where my head's at currently as we leave October and make our way into November. And now, here's what I've been up to in October!

it's been a lovely, quiet month after such a hectic and stressful month in September. We caught up with our friends, Barry and Margaret, who sadly couldn't make it to our wedding as they flew back from their holiday that day. We also enjoyed a night out at the fair. Tewkesbury Mop Fair, that is; the biggest street fair in the South West! Check out my husband's great photo below for a snap of the fair from our offices; we had a great view! We ended the month with a meal with one of my bridesmaid's and her husband and children. And Halloween, of course!
Buying...candy floss, doughnuts and burgers, of course. No trip to the fair would be complete with a whole heap of junk food, right?!
Reading...not enough. I suffered terribly from pain in October, and reading took a hit. I recently finished, and loved, The Girl Who Takes An Eye For An Eye, by David Lagercrantz, though. A fantastic continuation of Stieg Larrson's Millennium trilogy, even if this book was a little slower than previous instalments.
Watching...I finally started watching 13 Reasons Why this month, but I still haven't finished it! Instead, I've been watching, and loving, AHS Cult (even if it is very different to previous seasons) and the new season of Criminal Minds which aired on Sky Living this month! Criminal Minds is my absolute fave <3
Eating...badly, but when don't we?! Besides all the food of the fair, I've also indulged in chocolate doughnuts, Krispy Kreme Halloween doughnuts, and plenty of meals out!
Spending...time with friends and family. Although I'm certainly seeing less of my friends and family after the wedding, which is a big shame but everyone's always so busy it's not easy to get the time, I'm glad we got to catch up with a few friends this month. I also got a visit from my grandparents at the end of the month, and that always makes me happy!
Looking forward to...starting new medication to treat my anxiety and depression. The mental health nurse I saw earlier this month thinks that I may have become resistant to SSRI's (who knew that was possible?!) So she wants to start me on Venlafaxine and Duloxetine. I'm just waiting on a psychiatrist to sign it off! So finger's crossed that won't take long, and I can start feeling a lot better mentally soon.

How was your October?
