Let's Talk Weddings: Introducing The New Mrs Hyndman!

black and-white, board, business

Say hello to the new Mrs Hyndman! Yep, that's me. By the time this post goes live, I will have been married for two whole days. And, as I'm writing this post eleven days before our wedding day, that's a very surreal thought.

Because our wedding day hasn't happened yet, I can't go into too much detail on all the little details. But suffice it to say, married life really doesn't feel very different from single life! After all, Chris and I have been together for over six years now, and living together for most of tha time, too. Nothing's really changed besides my last name, a new ring on my finger, and the titles we call each other!

I've been practising calling Chris my husband for a week or two now, but I haven't practised writing, or saying, my new name. I've been called Mrs Hyndman before, though; usually by companies or delivery men who assume we must be married as we're living together. Antiquated beliefs still abound, guys.

The two weeks leading up to the wedding were so hard. The anticipation nearly killed me; I was so anxious. I was torn between wanting to put it off, and wanting to get it over and done with. I was at war with myself constantly. I would be just drifting off to sleep when I'd start thinking about the day and give myself a panic attack. So that was fun. But I knew even then, that it would all be worth it in the end.

I'm confident that our wedding day will have been a huge success, and a lovely day for all. Something is bound to go wrong, because nothing in life is ever straightforward, and wouldn't it be kind of boring if everything was? But as long as Chris and I are together, surrounded by the love of all our family and friends, we'll have had a great day.

I'll be posting another Let's Talk Weddings post very soon with lots of photos and more details on the day, so keep an eye out for that post. For now though, we'd appreciate your well wishes for our future together!

  1. I'm so sorry to read about how anxious you were in the run up to the wedding. However, I'm over the moon that you're now Mrs Hyndman!
