An interview with...Hannah Elizabeth!

Well, would you look at that, I've remembered to post another one of these "An interview with..." blog posts. I am on a roll! Today, I'm super excited to be sharing with you my interview with Hannah, the lady behind the Hannah Elizabeth blog! I love her blog, so I'm thrilled to give  you the opportunity to get to know here better. I'll let Hannah take over now. Enjoy - and be sure to pay her blog a visit. I know she'd love that!

      1. Hi Hannah! First of all, tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog?
Hello there! I have my feet up, Adele is playing and a perfect cup of tea in my hand.. let’s do this!

Well I’m just your average 23 year old girl, I currently live in London. I am currently in the process of trying to get fit and healthy, trying to run a 10K.. EEK!

My blog is all about lifestyle sprinkled with some health and fitness posts! If I’ve gone to a nice restaurant, visit somewhere exciting or general have a thought I’ll pop it into a post. There is no structure really, I probably shouldn’t say that but oh well, if I fancy writing a post on something I will.

2. And what inspired you to start Hannah Elizabeth?
When I graduated from University and headed home, I was constantly updating my CV and going for interviews. I felt so downhearted not knowing what I wanted to do and I felt in a bit of a slump. I needed something to focus on and to have a creative outlet, then I found blogging. I loved writing, I thought I was the only person reading my posts but I didn’t care. The community around blogging has helped me through my blogging journey, people are lovely and always on hand if you need advice or someone to chat to. All of these people inspire me each and every day.

3. What are your favourite types of posts to read?
Oh where do I start, I love reading book/film reviews to give me ideas of what I should watch/read next, I always find it interesting how everyone has different opinions. I also love baking videos, hauls and personal posts. I love getting to know the person behind the blog and reading personal posts and picture diaries really helps to understand them.

4. How has blogging changed your life?
I wouldn’t say it’s changed my life necessarily, don’t get me wrong it’s been incredible. I have met some lovely people along the way through twitter or through blog events, I feel extremely lucky to be a part of this community. I have had a foodie instagram for a long time so I am used to taking pictures of all my food but now I feel I take photos of EVERYTHING just in case a blog post may come out of it.

5. What has been the highlight of your blogging career so far?
Having brands emailing me and asking to work with me, other bloggers commenting or sharing posts.. it genuinely shocked me that other people are reading my blog and interacting with the content. A key highlight was being invited to The City Girls event in Manchester, I met so many lovely people and brands. This was the first time where I genuinely thought “wow, I am actually a blogger”.

6. If you could give one piece of advice to new bloggers, what would it be?
Can I give two? I’m giving two…
1.       Socialise – join twitter chats, comment on blogs, help other bloggers out, make friends, everyone is lovely I promise!
2.       Be yourself – I see so many people being fake, working with brands who don’t fit with their blogs. Make sure you write content you would be interested in reading you’ll enjoy it so much more!

7. So, what do you hope for the future of Hannah Elizabeth?
I’m not sure to be perfectly honest, of course I’d like to grow and become more consistent with my post schedule. I’d love to attend more blogger events to meet more bloggers face to face! Apart from that as long as I carry on enjoying it I’m happy whichever direction it takes!

8. And what are your own personal life goals?
I have a few health and fitness goals but I won’t bore you with those. In the end I want my life to be exciting, fresh something to keep me on my toes and I want to carry on being happy.

9. Besides blogging, what are you passionate about?
I am a HUGE Disney fan, like seriously huge. Apart from Disney I love films, getting lost in a few hours being a part of other people’s lives. Following the similar theme I also love reading (if you haven’t read The Night Circus or The Girl On The Train then please do).  On a more serious note I think I’m passionate about always being there for people, whether it’s just putting a smile on their face with a sincere compliment or to listen to their problems. I think I’m quite good at that… how modest of me!

10. Finally, tell me three random things about you?!
I hiccup. I can hear you thinking “who doesn’t hiccup?” Well I do one LOUD hiccup every few hours or so, sometimes it’s more but usually just one. It used to be very embarrassing but hey, it’s who I am. I’ve been compared to a pterodactyl on numerous occasions.

I appeared on S Club 7's single ‘Have You Ever’ (with my school choir but let’s pretend it was just me). A bonus fun fact is that I can’t sing, oh well, I’m ready for my Grammy.

Nothing is going to top S Club 7 so I’m going with my drink of choice for my final ‘thing’ – it’s always a milky tea, no sugar (sugar is for the weak) or a G&T please!

I’d like to say a HUGE thank you and send big squeezy hugs to the incredible Aimee for asking me to be a part of this. It’s such a lovely idea, I tried not to waffle on too much so I hope I haven’t bored you all. Thank you so much xx
