An interview with...Things Sarah Loves!

In this first post in a new series, featuring interviews with awesome bloggers, I'm interviewing the lovely Sarah of Things Sarah Loves! Sarah is active in the blogging community, hosting chats on Twitter on a weekly basis! She started her blog, which offers something for everyone, in May and has had only positive feedback since launch. And I, for one, love her blog! And now here's Sarah to tell you more in her own words.

1. Hi Sarah! First of all, tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog?
Hey! I’m Sarah, 30 from Glasgow, Scotland and I blog over at Things Sarah Loves.
It is pretty much like the title suggests: all things that I love! I focus on beauty, fashion, books, lifestyle, crafts, travel and one of my biggest loves, TEA!! I really enjoy the diversity and hope that everyone else does too.

2. And what inspired you to start Things Sarah Loves?
To be honest, I’ve wanted to start a blog for years but never took the plunge. I guess I felt like there were so many blogs out there I didn’t think there was room for me or that I would bring anything different. A few of my close friends told me that I should have a blog and I just decided to take the leap. It was the best decision I’ve ever made!

On a slightly more serious note, I myself am recovering from a transplant. I knew when I started my blog that I wanted to focus on topics such as the importance of organ donation and write about my journey. Although I have not done this yet, it definitely inspired me and is something I am currently working on.

3. What are your favourite types of posts to write?
Every Sunday I write a post called ‘Wander Through My Week’ and I really enjoy that! I also write a post called ‘My Tea of the Month’ at the end of each month which is all about the tea I have been drinking most that particular month. I love drinking tea (and I drink A LOT of different teas) so that is always really good fun.

4. How has blogging changed your life?
It is weird because before I had a blog, if you had asked me that question I would have wondered what the hell you were on about! How on earth can blogging change your life??!! But it really can, trust me! I’ve met some amazing fellow bloggers who have become friends and I’m going to my first meet up soon. As well as this, my blog is like my little world and although I have a lot to learn on this blogging journey, I’m really proud of myself for what I’ve achieved. It has definitely made me more confident!

5. What has been the highlight of your blogging career so far?
Wow! I started my blog on May 25th this year and to be honest, I didn’t expect anyone to read it. To actually read comments on my posts complimenting my writing style or someone telling me that a review of mine helped them decide whether or not to purchase a product, that is such a nice feeling.  Being active on Twitter and hosting chats is such good fun and something I really enjoy. I co-founded @tbloggerschat which is a weekly Twitter chat (9pm BST) and that is something I am really proud of. I love connecting with fellow bloggers!

6. If you could give one piece of advice to new bloggers, what would it be?
Do it!! What are you waiting for??!! Everyone is really supportive and we are all so different. There is always room for one more blogger!

7. So, what are your hopes for the future of thingssarahloves?
Just to keep going from strength to strength. Blogging is a journey and I definitely see myself improving as I learn new skills so I’m excited to see what the future holds. I’ve started blogging daily which is a challenge but I really love it and by the start of 2016, I plan to start a Youtube channel which I’m really excited about.

8. And what are your own, personal life goals?
After going through a transplant, my health is the most important thing to me and I am thankful every day that my transplant has been a success. Just to be happy, travel more and live for each and every moment. Career wise, I would love to release my own History, Latin & Classics textbooks and study guides.

9. Besides blogging, what are you passionate about?
I’m a history nerd. I love Ancient Roman & Greek history (which will also be featuring on my blog!). I love live music, travelling, cooking spicy food and cocktails with the girls. I have just started yoga too and I’m really enjoying it. Oh and reading books, love books!

10. Finally, tell me one random thing about yourself?
Haha, this is hard! Um…I hate soap operas but I love WWE Wrestling! I have since I was 12 – it’s awesome! Huge fan of The Undertaker and Roman Reigns!

Sarah, it's been a pleasure interviewing you. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog posts in the future!

Well that's it for Monday, but I'll be back on Wednesday with a book review! And in a few weeks time I'll be sharing another interview with another blogger...someone whose blog is full of cute things! If you're a blogger who would like to be interviewed, please leave a link to your blog in a comment and I'll be in touch. Have a great week, lovelies!
